NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR DISCUSSION OF POSSIBLE STATE CDBG APPLICATION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Washoe County will conduct a public hearing on August 6, 2025 at 1 pm in the Building A Caucus Room at 1001 E. 9th St. Reno, NV 89512 in order to discuss possible applications for funding under the next fiscal year’s (July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026) State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and to solicit citizen input on possible activities to be included in the application. It is estimated that approximately will be available in total.

ELIGIBLE ACTIVITIES UNDER THE ABOVE ALLOCATION CONSIST OF: PUBLIC FACILITY AND PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PROJECTS, AND PLANNING STUDIES. ELIGIBLE ACTIVITIES PAID FOR WITH THE STATE CDBG FUNDS MUST MEET ONE OR MORE OF THE THREE NATIONAL OBJECTIVES LISTED IN CDBG FEDERAL STATUTES AS FOLLOWS: BENEFIT TO LOW INCOME HOUSEHOLDS OR PERSONS; ELIMINATION OF SLUMS AND BLIGHT; OR MEETING URGENT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT NEED.
The purpose of this public hearing is to provide information about the CDBG program, past projects that have been funded in Washoe County, how to apply, eligibility requirements, how and where funds can be used, and to give citizens an opportunity to make their comments known regarding what types of eligible activities Washoe County should apply for under the State CDBG program. A second public hearing will be held to discuss proposed projects submitted to date. A final hearing will be held to discuss, approve and rank applications prior to submittal to the State.
